The Forest
The Forest is the place where the characters in the Bambi franchise live. It is the main setting for nearly all Bambi stories.
Background[]
The forest is the home to a variety of animals. It is watched over and protected by Bambi's father, The Great Prince of the Forest. The location of the forest is unclear. The creatures seen inhabiting it would seem to indicate it somewhere in North America, likely in the Appalachian Mountains or Canadian Shield.
Locations[]
- Bambi's mother's den: Also known as "the thicket," this is where Bambi was born, and where Bambi's wife, Faline gave birth to their twin fawns, Geno and Gurri.
- The Great Prince's den: This is where Bambi's father lives, and he takes in his son after his mother is shot and killed by hunters.
- The Meadow: This area is where most of the animals like to play, and it is close to Thumper's home. There is a small pool from which to drink from. Bambi meets his future wife, Faline and her mother here. Sadly, this is also where Bambi's mother and Faline's brother, Gobo were shot and killed by hunters.
- The Flower Patch: This is a small group of flowers where Bambi meets a flower-loving skunk, and "accidentally" nicknames him Flower while learning to talk, and the nickname sticks.
- There is also another flower patch nearby where Thumper is telling an exaggerated story about how Bambi bravely fought off Man's hunting dogs, and the Porcupine sticks Bambi in the behind with his quills, and he and Faline accidentally kiss.
- The Porcupine's Bridge: This is a log bridge, where the grumpy old Porcupine lives.
- The Mountainside: This is where the battle between Bambi and Man's hunting dogs takes place. It is steep, unstable and rocky.
- The Forest Glade: This is where The Great Prince first met Bambi's mother.
